Eton Manor U17s hosted Mavericks RFC on Sunday in an Essex League Division One match.
Earlier this season the two teams had met in the Essex Youth Cup which was a tight and hard fought game. Yesterday was no different. It was a game where both teams had periods of sustained pressure with the momentum swinging back and forth. Eton Manor played for large parts of the game with only 14 players as a succession of yellow cards depleted their numbers. However, Eton Manor managed to keep their noses in front, and despite a late try in the last action of the game by Mavericks, ran out winners 17-15.
Stand out performances in a real team performance. Chris Molden-Mwanashiku, David Searle, Ross Ingram but in truth it was a full squad effort.
Thank you to all the Mums, who turned out to support the team on Mothers Day!
