Eton Manor RFC Artificial Grass Pitch Opportunity

You may be aware that The RFU is investing in 100 Artificial Grass Pitches (AGPs) across England over the next four years as a part of their Rugby World Cup legacy. The ambition of the project is to maximise playing opportunities across the country by offering high quality all-weather playing surfaces to clubs and local communities experiencing growing demand on their natural turf pitches through overuse and where there is high growth potential.”

I am pleased to tell you that Eton Manor RFC, along with several other clubs across England, has been identified as a potential Artificial Grass Pitch (AGP) host site. Following an initial feasibility appraisal the RFU has agreed the design of the pitch and will be submitting a formal planning application to the London Borough of Redbridge. By the end of this month we will be in a position to know if our ground meets all of the necessary qualifying criteria. If we are chosen, from the RFU shortlist, we would expect to have the pitch ready for the start of the 2017/18 season. Club members and local clubs will be consulted on the project over the coming weeks.

We have a committee meeting arranged for Monday 13th February and once the committee have agreed the way forward we will call an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) so that the members can be fully informed of the proposal and vote on the committee recommendations.

In the meantime if you want to ask any questions please give me a call.
