“Hey you guys”

Sorry couldn’t resist a Goonies welcome! Also wanted to thank you for purchasing ticket(s) for this Sunday’s Wanstead Outdoor Cinema being held at Eton Manor Rugby Club and provide you with some information.
We’re really looking forward to welcoming you whether currently a member of the club or not and in fact those who are not we are granting 24-hour membership to you – although we have a large membership we are really excited that there is probably half of the attendees who are not involved with the club, maybe you were not aware of us or maybe we’ve not had anything to offer you in the past?
We hope to make this an annual event and are keen to get your feedback on future films (I was keen on Ferris Bueller’s Day Off or Coming to America!) and events – for example we are hosting a comedy night here as part of the Fringe on Friday 16 September.
Eton Manor stems from the philanthropist work of some old Etonians in the early 1900’s who came to the East End “on a mission” for the poor and founded a boy’s club (if you look on the boards above the bar you will see a board that bears the name of Harry Mallin – and until Nicola Adams recent exploits in retaining her boxing Gold Medal he was the last to achieve this – you may have heard John Inverdale talking about this on the BBC?
Today we may be a best kept secret as we have a great ethos, facilities that we would like to share more with you – who knows maybe there are budding players out there, someone looking for hall hire, wanting to watch rugby, sponsor, volunteer or just watch a movie once a year with us – whatever we welcome you, friends old and new.
Thank you for your support. Following the event, we will be sending you a survey via email. Please could you be kind enough to take the time out to complete these 10 questions. This will help s improve on future events.

Thanks for your support

Site Rules

1. Arrival/Departure
If you are camping please arrive by 18:30 as the gate is likely to be busy which will delay you putting up your tent and you may miss the film. If you are just attending to watch the film the gate opens at 18:30. The film is likely to start around 20:30ish at sunset. No entry after this time. If you need to leave early, please ask a steward to help you leave.

2. Late Arrivals
Sorry no entry after the film has started as above, as the gates will be locked and supervised.

3. Camping Pitches
Please note that due to fire regulations you must pitch at least three, preferably six, metres away from anyone else. Unfortunately, if this rule is not adhered to you may be asked to pitch and no one likes that.

You will find fire extinguishers in prominent places around the site, please make yourself aware of where these are located.

4. Parking
As there is limited parking it is advised that guest arrive by public transport where possible. If our car park is full, please consider our neighbours when parking by not blocking drives. Please park sensibly. The speed limit on-site is 5mph. As there are often young children playing, we ask you to take special care when driving on-site. No vehicles on the grass areas.

5. Barbecues and Picnics
Picnics are allowed but strictly no BBQ’s and alcohol. There will be food and alcohol available from our licenced bar and main BBQ area. Also no glass on the grass area.

6. Dogs
Dogs are allowed but these must be kept on the lead at all times. This is club policy.

7. Environment
The grounds is a rugby club which every inch is used for all sporting activities so please be kind enough to dispose all of you rubbish in the bins provided. Strictly No glass on the grass areas.
We make every effort to keep the site facilities clean and tidy and ask for your assistance in maintaining this standard by using the refuse and recycling bins and chemical disposal points provided, and by leaving all facilities clean after use.

8. Noise
Please consider our neighbours when arriving and leaving the premises. During the film please be kind and consider other cinema goers by keeping the noise to a minimum especially during the film. Everyone should be able to enjoy the film.

9. Seats
Please bring something to sit on. There will be very few things to sit on. Preferably low level but please consider people behind you if you have an upright chair.

10. Weather
Yes, it is summer but this is England! Please ensure you bring something warm as summer night can be chilly so make sur you’re comfortable for the duration of the film.

Summer night often brings out unwanted pests. Being close to the river we are prone to midges and mosquitos so ensure you have some repellent!

It may be sunny during the day to don’t forget your sunscreen ☺

11. Volunteers
The stewards around the grounds are volunteers from the Rugby Club. If you have any issue. Please raise this to one of them. They will try their best to help. If there are any other issues, please email info@etonmanor.net

12. Feedback
We would really appreciate some feedback on this event good or bad as your opinion matters. There will be a survey sent out following the event.

13. Emergency
Like all events we cannot plan for any emergency. Please ensure when parking there is adequate room for emergency vehicles to enter the grounds. There will be an area for them to access the field also. The stewards may ask you to keep these areas clear. Please contact a steward in an emergency.

14. Children
All children must be supervised at all times.

Note: The Committee reserve the right to refuse entry or remove anyone who is under the influence.
