A Word from The Chairman
As Chairman of Eton Manor and boasting the largest sports facility in Wanstead, I hope that this Web Site will give you an insight into the Club, both past and present. We have always prided ourselves as being seen as the premier family Club within Essex ensuring that the welcome is always friendly allied with it being a very sociable venue and I am delighted that these attributes have been captured within the following pages.
I am reminded of a quote from one of our former Club managers who once said “Everyone knows that the success of a Club like ours is not in it’s numbers but in the spirit of friendliness and happiness among the members. Not in the cups it wins but in the spirit in which it plays or competes. We have always prided ourselves on these things, and I think with justice”. I believe these words are just as valid today. Rugby Union is undoubtedly the sport to bring together so many people of differing abilities, ages and backgrounds. It has become one of the fastest growing spectator sports in the country with the Rugby World Cup and the new format of the Six Nations Championship only adding to the viewing numbers.
It doesn’t matter if you want to play the sport, watch the game or just become part of the social scene, whether you are 6 or 66 years old there is a always something for everyone at Eton Manor Rugby Club. Within this site you will learn more about the Club, the associated history, it’s Teams and ways that you can become involved.
Read on to find out why Eton Manor RFC is more than just a Rugby Club.
